The story

This car began its life as a no frills 4 door wagon, happily residing in California
Sometime in the late '60s it found its way to northern Minnesota, and was promptly sent to the garage of a fellow who thought it would be neat to get rid of the back passenger doors
When he got done, the car was 36" SHORTER!
Years passed, and one day I saw the car @ Back to the 50s, and had to have it! This was about 1992
The engine was tired, so I decided to upgrade and the General had just what I was looking for!
After the spider gears in the stock rearend split, I found a 9" from a Torino, and had the spring perches matched to the stock location for the springs
At that time I bought new leaf springs for the rear, and installed them
The combo was a sucess!
The (22") driveshaft u-joint had to be replaced w/ a conversion to match the Ford yoke
We had many happy miles together, and THEN the car had to go unused/unprotected from 2001 to 2003, and currently is in the care of a nephew UP NORTH, who has run the car occasionally, and changed the oil each fall The paint has begun to bubble, and the seam in the roof has cracked(bondo)
Somebody needs to rescue Shorty, and make thing right again — short55w
