About the 1996–1999 Ford Taurus

A Ford Taurus from the generation archive from the generation archive

The Oval (Third-Gen) Taurus earned its nickname from that distinctive rounded styling Ford introduced for 1996, and the builds here show just how far owners push these sedans — from a dark '98 with a custom grille to a pair of '99s rolling on aftermarket wheels. You'll spot a red '97 rocking a front-end bra, a black '99 parked on foggy waterfront gravel, and interior details like carbon fiber trim around the shifter, proving these oval-bodied Fords still get plenty of love.

The story

The only engine mods that I have put into it are a K&N Filter, Bosch Platinum plugs, Premium wire, I run Mobil tri-synthetic 5w-30 oil. I also have High Performance Brake Pads and Rotors that stop on a dime. I added a contour bugsheild, window vents, some stickers, mud flaps, custom dual exhaust with turbo mufflers. A custom spoiler, H-rated Performance tires. Tinted blue head-lights. A neon blue dome light. What I did alot of work on was the stereo system which I have a Pioneer Premier DEH-P 730 cd receiver, 12 disc cd changer, 2 Soundstream 302 Rubicon amps bridged to, 2 12" Rockford Fosgatte DVC's, Running all stinger amp cables except that RCA's which are Rockford Gamma cords, JL Evolution 5 1/4" components, and 2 6" Rockfod Full-Range speakers. I want to do alot more work on the engine and some more on the body and a little to the stereo. I really am wanting rims. If anyone has any modification suggestions please tell me because I need more to do on this baby. I'll get a pic of her real soon. — Richie Shefland
