2014 Ford Taurus

The 2010 model year brought the sixth and final generation of the Ford Taurus, a complete exterior and interior redesign on the D3 platform that the fifth generation also used. The standard engine at launch was the 3.5 Cyclone V6 rated at 263 horsepower; for the 2013 facelift it was revised to 288 horsepower and a 2.0 EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder rated at 240 horsepower was added for the 2013 through 2017 model years. The Police Interceptor Sedan, the Taurus-based police vehicle, used a 3.7 V6 with all-wheel drive. Ford revived the SHO badge for 2010 on this generation, fitting a twin-turbocharged 3.5 EcoBoost V6 rated at 365 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, with a six-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive; the EcoBoost SHO ran through 2019 and is the only Taurus offered with the twin-turbo EcoBoost V6. The Taurus was discontinued after the 2019 model year as Ford shifted toward SUVs and crossovers, and the final North American Taurus was built on March 1, 2019, ending 34 years of the nameplate.
