1987 Ford Ranger “Fordzilla”
About the 1983–1992 Ford Ranger
The First-Gen Ranger shows up here in every stage of life — from a clean brown '85 parked curbside to lifted mud trucks buried axle-deep in ponds, desert runners kicking up dust, and rigs with rusted-out suspension waiting on a full restoration. Whether it's engine bay deep-dives, custom body panels on a lifted build, or a white Ranger perched on a snowy embankment, these owner photos capture what 1983–1992 Rangers actually look like in the hands of the people who run them hard and keep them going.
The story
I found the truck next door to the Richmond dump totaled it 3 times, the last was 75MPH into the side of a stopped Mercury cougar. The damn truck just wont die. it has 310,000 brutal miles on the original motor and starts on the first rotation of the motor every day. I bought the thing for $2500 and have around $15000 in recipts from accidents alone. I installed a trailmaster 3" body lift and 33/12.5/15 BFG Mud Terrains. this truck brings new meaning to the slogan "Built Ford Tough" — curtis Theriault
