The car to replace my 96. I bought this car for $3800 from the Mclean County Sheriff. It looks like its going to be a winner. — noblunts

2001 Ford Crown Victoria - The first pic I took when I got home when I bought the car. It was dark so you can't see that much. 2001 Ford Crown Victoria - The car from the driver's side. This joint fared a little bit better than the other one. 2001 Ford Crown Victoria - The real trouble starts when you look underneat the car at the trans. Self explanatory. 2001 Ford Crown Victoria - This part is what shattered my trans afte the other end let go. 2001 Ford Crown Victoria - So here is where the fun starts. My car is on jackstands in the garage. 2001 Ford Crown Victoria - Thats the shaft that was hanging down from the trans. Its not supposed to come off like that. :) 2001 Ford Crown Victoria - As you can see, it kinda got ripped off. 2001 Ford Crown Victoria - That is the tailshaft housing. Its been ripped clear from the transmission. You can see the remains of the rear speed sensor, its bent. 2001 Ford Crown Victoria - This is the rear of the trans still in the car. Notice that the top half of the housing is just gone. 2001 Ford Crown Victoria - This is what the rotating driveshaft did to the body of my car. Good thing it didnt do much dammage. 2001 Ford Crown Victoria - The stripped and destroyed nut of doom. This is why I cant really sell the torque converter from the old trans. This nut looked different t… 2001 Ford Crown Victoria - This is the extent of the dammage to the trans housing. 2001 Ford Crown Victoria - The back of my engine. Notice the screwdriver scratches on the flywheel. You have to move that torque conveter somehow. :) 2001 Ford Crown Victoria - You have to remove the catalytic converters to get at the bolts on the trans. This is how one of them came off. First bolt broke, second on… 2001 Ford Crown Victoria - And this is the other side which was a bit tricky. I thought for sure that these bolts would break. Not so! They came off just fine.
