No apparent leaks from block rear bores or rear main seal. 1996 Ford Bronco - Remaining plugs from kit. Small & tiny plugs don't appear to apply to this engine, which has 5 threaded plugs (none leaking). 1996 Ford Bronco - LHS Some pan bolts are loose - nearly falling out 1996 Ford Bronco - RHS 1996 Ford Bronco - Normal installation in the 3 undamaged bores: Hylomar & hammer the plugs in. 1996 Ford Bronco - For the 2 rust-damaged bores; rather than machine them out larger, I just used JBWeld as the sealant & drove the plugs in. 1996 Ford Bronco - Done with the bore plugs. 1996 Ford Bronco - The pan gasket was pretty ugly, so I dropped the pan. The inside was pretty ugly, too. That's one of the timing cover dowels rolling around… 1996 Ford Bronco - The block & timing cover surfaces cleaned up pretty well. There wasn't much slack in the timing chain. 1996 Ford Bronco - Washing the grime off the pan took whatever was left of the paint off, too. Then I sprayed each one with Copper… 1996 Ford Bronco - Going in... Not that I needed to adjust it, but just because it's clean, I painted the timing marks white.
