“Blanche”2004 Mercury Grand Marquis

The story

This is a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis LS Gold Edition. The Gold Edition on this particular car was a dealer add-on that raised the cost of the car to just over $40,000 when new. Despite being expensive, it has very few options besides what came standard on the LS models; it even sports a standard analog gauge cluster. The car was possibly bought in Palm Springs, and spent most of its life in Texas, where the sun did some damage to the Performance White paint job and the tan canvas cabriolet top and then it was in a hail storm on an open trailer on its way up North after the original owner sold it out of Texas. It then went to Illinois very briefly and then I bought it. It now travels between Ohio (for grad school), Georgia (for family visits), and my home state of Wisconsin (for friend visits and family holidays). I have done a lot of work with the paint and top to get it back to being presentable and absolutely love this car. Mechanically, it has not needed any work other than some suspension work, so most of the things I have done to it are cosmetic touch-ups (dent removal, new paint on the hood, cabriolet top cleaning, new tires, etc.) — jrbuzz8
