The story
My dad purchased this Ranchero new in June of 1969 and gave it to me on Fathers Day in 2006. It was repainted and had all of the chrome replated and stainless repolished in 1987. From 1987 to 2006 my dad put less than 500 miles on it. In 2006 I install the C-stripe changing it from the factory reflective gold to silver. I also installed a new cam, intake manifold, carb, water pump, fuel pump, Aluminium radiator and more. In addition, I replaced the 14" rims with 17 x 8 polished American Racing Torque Thrust Originals and lowered the Ranchero about 6" lower than stock. The front suspension was rebuilt with new upper control arms, 720 lbs. Springs, Koni shocks and an 1 1/8" sway bar. The rear suspension was modified with custom spring shackles, de-arched leaf springs, Rancho shocks and a 3/4" sway bar. I tired to keep the modifications period correct and similar to what was done in the late 60's and early 70's to Mustangs and Shelbys while retaining a stock appearance with the 1960's "Hot Wheels" look. The interior is basically stock, the carpet has been replaced and the seat has been recovered with factor original style carpet and seat cover from Dearborn Classics. — Golfman
