The story
bought locally with damaged 2.9Lengine ,sat for 1 or more years , basically in pretty good condition and came with a spare 89 2.9L eng in unknown condition. Removed old eng. had heads planed/dipped/valve job and checked for cracks then installed engine with new oil pump and pick up tube, gaskets and seals . NOTE: spare eng was super clean inside no gunk what soever!! After reading on typical head crack issues I decided on having head work done just to be sure! new oil pump for same reasons!
finally finished and is running quite well( no smoke,no leaks!
This is a 1988 broncoII XLT with 2.9L and came equipped with factory A/C, Power steering ,rear ABS, tilt, cruise control, power windows and door locks. Everything so far works but can't verify cruise control (as it's not licensed yet) and the A/C is low on freon. The A/C may need some work but it does still have pressure just very low! — jamesjamd
