The story
I bought this car for the princely sum of A$1000. It went like the clappers, and was easily steerable on the throttle.
I once drove from Sydney to Gosford (around 100-150 kilometres - about 60-90 miles) on the "old Pacific Highway", which is a tight winding round that goes up and down the mountain ranges. On this drive, my follish mates who were passengers at the time, bet me that I couldn't drive from Sydney to Gosford without gaining traction with the rear wheels, driving sideways on the throttle the entire way.
I did it, and it is a testament to the awesome chassis that Ford created for their rally programme that I was able to do it. I did need a new set of rear tyres when I finished though.... The rears had the steel belts hanging out of them. — _ Prud_
