The story

Vehicle was purchased from Grandson of original owner in December 2008 for $650.00 Canadian. It walked through a safety check and is emissions exempt in this Province, as long as nobody votes NDP in the future.
The Grandson had taken good care of the vehicle for 2 years. Prior to that it had been owned and cared for (meticulously I'll add) by his Grandfather since he bought it new in 1981. To say it is rust free would be an understatement. Even the frame rails are still burgundy. Grampa may have ordered the CMX wheels as their center webs are painted body colour. We re-upholstered the headliner and rear window tunnel in 2010.
Mk IV cupholder/console. — Sixlitre

1982 Chrysler New Yorker - Looking to increase compression on the 82 4bbl engine, which was barely 8.0:1. These 88' 302 castings should take us up to 8.9:1 no trouble… 1982 Chrysler New Yorker - Not wanting to borrow the valve spring compressor twice I'm removing the valve spring retainers/clips the old fashioned, dangerous way. Put… 1982 Chrysler New Yorker - Grasp the 13/16 inch deep impact socket and WHACK it with the rubber mallet. You're wearing eye protection and listening intently for where… 1982 Chrysler New Yorker - After a whack or three the first clip usually pops out 1982 Chrysler New Yorker - One clip remaining, watch your eyes and keep your safety glasses on and hit it again 1982 Chrysler New Yorker - There's the other clip, a little out out of focus. The deep socket usually captures the clip no trouble 1982 Chrysler New Yorker - There's the ages old original Mopar valve seals. The intake closest to us, the exhaust furthest away. Clean and/or file the edge off the si… 1982 Chrysler New Yorker - Exhaust valves were not that badly carboned up

1982 Chrysler New Yorker - Blue and Green field wires on my typical Chrysler 60 amp alternator 1982 Chrysler New Yorker - Both wires are green on the 117 amp Denso alternator. The large 8 gauge hot lead (in black) is identical in size to the 82's Chrysler alter… 1982 Chrysler New Yorker - Both green field wires on the Denso appear to be interchangeable and bolt to the housing next to each other. 1982 Chrysler New Yorker - Scrounged this dual belt pulley off the cracked case Denso, from the 89' Fifth Avenue 1982 Chrysler New Yorker - To use the stock 89' Denso brackets, this steel bracket comes off the A/C compressor. 1982 Chrysler New Yorker - That's the 82's steel bracket we're ditching. We're keeping the aluminum tab that bolts to the other side of the compressor mount. 1982 Chrysler New Yorker - This protective insulator comes off the Denso with a 12mm deep socket. The stock 82' power wire has it's own shroud attached to the wire an… 1982 Chrysler New Yorker - Now notice the two studs have male spade connectors nutted onto them. This allows a true bolt-on, no cutting, crimping or soldering install…

1982 Chrysler New Yorker - Where do I get those neat 1/4 inch male spade adapters you ask ? why from Grote 84-2915. Think I paid 3 bucks for the ten in the pack 1982 Chrysler New Yorker - Want them angled ? Put them in the vice and bend em'. These nut onto the Denso alternator studs making this a true bolt on, with no wiring… 1982 Chrysler New Yorker - Empty out the bonded rubber that holds the steel tube the trans mount bolt passes through. 1982 Chrysler New Yorker - This is what you no longer need. It's also why your trans bumps around. 1982 Chrysler New Yorker - This is what goes into the old mount housing, which is planty rigid and plenty strong. The deteriorated rubber is the weak link.
