The story

Purchased in 1989 this Cougar was my daily driver for a couple of years. On one fateful trip home from work the brakes failed leaving me to cautiously drive home using only the emergency brakes. Before I could make it home however the heater core also failed and hot water was pouring out of the car through the A/C condensation drain. With no time to take on these repairs the Cougar was parked for nearly a year before I had time to attempt to replace the heater core and repair the brakes. As is usually the case with these things, one thing led to another and before long the restoration journey had begun. 12 years of collecting parts, traveling the country to various swap meets and the eventual coming of age of the internet as a parts source the restoration was completed in the summer of 2005.

I plan on keeping the car through the 40th anniversary of the Cougar in 2007 - perhaps attending the 2007 Cougar Nationals in Denver Colorado. It remains a very fun car to drive and I enjoy it on those occasional warm spring, summer and fall weekend drives in the surrounding mountains.
